Syd (aka Syd Tha Kid), frontwoman and producer for The Internet, released EP Always Never Home on Sept. 7 via Columbia Records. On Tuesday, she visited The Fillmore Silver Spring to play an engaging show, and Chris Castillo was there to take some pix. (By the way, Syd is at Baltimore Soundstage tonight. Go see that show!)
Music Park: Now, Now and Foreign Air @ All Things Go Fall Classic — 10/8/17
Foreign Air perform at All Things Go Fall Classic on Oct. 8, 2017.
It wasn’t only the headliners that impressed at All Things Go Fall Classic. Take the afternoon bands on the final day of Sunday, Oct. 8, for example. Great musical duos Now, Now and Foreign Air kept festival-goers entertained at Union Market and had us searching Spotify for their latest releases.
Music Park: Vince Staples and Young Thug @ All Things Go Fall Classic — 10/7/17
Music Park: The Knocks and Galantis @ All Things Go Fall Classic — 10/6/17

The annual All Things Go Fall Classic music festival successfully expanded to three days last week, launching with an evening of dance music on Friday, Oct. 6, at Union Market’s Dock 5. Headliners The Knocks and Galantis brought their top game to the dock, where revelers danced the night away in the wonderfully warm weather of the night.

The Anthem, 9:30 Club’s majestic new sister venue at The Wharf, hosted two soft opening dates this week on Sunday and Tuesday prior to a friends and family party Wednesday and its grand opening tonight.
Parklife DC attended the second soft opening date on Tuesday, when Andrew WK partied hard in a wonderfully raucous concert, and we can report that the space is *beautiful*. It’s like someone scooped up a freshly built stage from an arena and deposited it into a shiny new Grand Central Station building with three levels of impressive views and lots of creature comforts, big and small.

October’s first weekend was a frantic one for Near Northeast. On Saturday, the band performed at Porchfest in Adams Morgan, then loaded up their gear for a quick trip to Norfolk, Virginia, for a secret SoFar show. Then it was back up to the District to support headliner Sam Amidon at the Songbyrd Music House Sunday.
The quartet, named for the D.C. neighborhood where it originated, takes its work and art seriously: relentlessly performing whenever and wherever a gig is to be had.
