Loi Loi (frontwoman Kristie Di Lascio and Ron Storhaug) gamely tried to get a dance party started at Union Stage recently. The show began early with Subradio, followed by Loi Loi, but I had the feeling that the audience wasn’t quite loose enough yet to move their feet.

DC’s own hometown synthpop group Loi Loi will celebrate the release of a new single at Union Stage on Saturday, Nov. 10, opening Bright Light Bright Light.

Synthpop outfit Loi Loi perform at Rock and Roll Hotel on Saturday, April 28, and the band is bringing along a lot of friends to celebrate the birthday of frontwoman Kristie Di Lascio on a bill that includes Mundy, Nihiloceros, and Time Is Fire.

How she’s able to jump and dance in those high heels is anyone’s guess, but then again, how can anyone resist jumping, dancing, or even just tapping one’s toes to Kristie Di Lascio of Loi Loi’s energetic, tuneful synthpop beats.
