Eli “Paperboy” Reed headlined a pair of shows over last weekend at DC’s The Hamilton and its sister venue, The Soundry in Columbia, Maryland. The Brooklyn-based artist recently released a new album, 99 Cent Dreams on April 19 via Yep Roc Records, and he is on tour to promote it.

Sol Roots and his band gave a hot performance recently at The Soundry in Columbia, Maryland, putting in a 45-miute opening set before New Orleans-great Jon Cleary took the stage.

Fresh off a European tour with Bonnie Raitt’s band, Grammy Award winner and New Orleans funkmaster Jon Cleary paid a visit to The Soundry in Columbia, Maryland, recently to deliver a smokin’ hot, 90-minute R&B/funk/soul performance. Jon is currently touring in support his newest album, Dyna-Mite, published by Thirty Tigers in July.

Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express played to a crowd of loyal fans on Wednesday night at The Soundry, a relatively new venue in Columbia, Maryland. Chuck, channeling all his of San Francisco weirdness, played his oddball schtick to the hilt. His guitar playing was tight as always, and his band sounded great.

The band jumps onto stages at The Hamilton in DC on Thursday, June 21, and The Soundry in Columbia, Maryland, on Friday, June 22.
