Married country traditionalists Jason Eady and Courtney Patton made a stop at City Winery recently to entertain with songs and stories. Jason has made a point of coming to DC for the last several years, as his daughter will graduate from American University this year. Jason pointed her out at the merchandise table, where she was helping out. She didn’t even appear embarrassed when Jason played a song he’d written for her when she was graduating high school!

The Waterboys, the storied UK folk rockers, released Where The Action Is, the band’s 13th studio album, via Cooking Vinyl back in May. Frontman Mike Scott and company returned to DC to perform at the Lincoln Theatre recently, and Jason Nicholson photographed the show!

The 16th Annual Watermelon Park Fest a three day music festival, was held at the Watermelon Park Campground near Berryville, Virginia. It’s located on the banks of the beautiful Shenandoah River on Sept. 19-22 with music, camping, as well as canoeing, kayaking and inner-tube floats and late night jam sessions around the campfire. Nothing better!

In August, The Regrettes released How Do You Love?, the band’s sophomore studio album, via Warner Records. Frontwoman Lydia Night and company are on the road again, and The Regrettes play at U Street Music Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 1. But act fast — few tickets remain!

The amber sky from the evening’s sunset set a beautiful atmosphere as Dirty Honey took the stage to open the Victorious Sky tour with Alter Bridge and Skillet. While nature’s beauty was on exhibit high above, beneath the canopy at Baltimore’s MECU Pavilion recently, a night of music was commenced by one of rock and roll’s next big things.
