Not long ago, Finnish doom metal band Swallow the Sun came through town with Sonata Arctica (check out our photos!), and then they decided to drop by again with a show opening for Overkill at the Howard Theatre on March 8.

Hip hop trio Migos electrified Echostage in a sold-out show at Echostage on Sunday night, dishing out songs from their new album Culture, which dropped in January via Quality Control Entertainment.

Last week, Ethan Gruska presented hushed folks songs for a watchful audience as the opening act for Agnes Obel at 9:30 Club. (Read our Parklife DC review of Agnes Obel’s show.) Ethan’s concert followed the release of his debut album, Slowmotionary, on March 3 via Sire Records.

New Jersey metal legends Overkill released their 18th studio album, The Grinding Wheel, on Feb. 10 via Nuclear Blast and eOne Music. And they just wrapped up a tour that stopped at The Howard Theatre on March 8 to support it!

Hometown heroes Priests wrapped a US tour with a smashing, sold-out show at Black Cat Saturday. Billed a record release party, Priests actually released their full-length debut, Nothing Feels Natural, at the end of January via their own Sister Polygon Records.
