Cold Cave open their show Wednesday night at DC’s Rock and Roll Hotel with “Love Comes Close,” coincidentally the song that first initiated my interest in the band. For the duration of their opener, the look of the stage is appropriately understated.

What do you get when you combine Wonder Woman with a motorcycle daredevil and give her the voice of Suzi Quatro?

You get Ali Cat, lead singer of Glam Skanks, a rock-n-roll girl band from Los Angeles. And when you put Ali with her bandmates, you get a ton of musical hijinks and a stageful of fun.

To many, the number seven represents good luck or completion, which is very true and well-deserved for Amber Denise Streeter, otherwise known as Sevyn Streeter. The 30-year-old R&B singer is on the journey to transition from her skilled stint as a collaborator and songwriter to pop acts (Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, Usher) into the realm of a top-notch R&B vocalist and performer. To add to two acclaimed EPs, Sevyn will release her debut album, Girl Disrupted, on January 27. In support of the album, Sevyn treated her DC fans to a show at the Howard Theatre on Sunday for her current tour, Girl Disrupted.
