I was out of town when Saint Motel played at the 9:30 Club in October 2016, but I returned to hear plenty of buzz — buzz for opening act Hippo Campus, that is!

The indie rock quartet from St. Paul, Minnesota, charmed a bunch of new admirers in that opening stint, and now they are circulating on a headlining tour that includes a stop at the Black Cat on Wednesday, March 29.

Kino Kimono kicked off a brief March to Washington tour to support Planned Parenthood, and the group visits DC on Saturday to play as a headliner for Not My Inauguration Fest at the 16th Street House in DC.

In about a month, noise pop septet Los Campesinos! will launch a US tour to promote their sixth studio album, Sick Scenes. The UK collective will release Sick Scenes via Wichita Recordings on Feb. 24, and their tour will take them to the 9:30 Club soon after on Thursday, March 9.

For the first time in history, the legendary U2 are dedicating an entire tour to one of their albums. In this case, the band will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their fifth studio album, The Joshua Tree.

U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 launches in North American on May 12, and it will arrive in DC for a performance at FedEx Field on Tuesday, June 20. All North American dates go on sale to the public at 10am local time today, Jan. 17. (European dates went on sale yesterday and sold out completely.)
