In 2016, Cash Askew, guitarist for Them Are Us Too, died in the infamous 2016 Ghost Ship club warehouse fire in Oakland, leaving her partner Kennedy Ashlyn to start anew.
Kennedy poured her grief into a new project SRSQ, which became about rebirth. She’s continuing that journey on tour with a date at Songbyrd Music House on Sunday, Feb. 10.

When Gaelic Storm took the stage at The Birchmere recently, frontman Patrick Murphy had his tongue firmly planted in cheek as he congratulated the capacity crowd for bravely trudging out in the, ahem, storm to attend a concert. (Earlier in the day, several area schools and employers had an early dismissal in anticipation of a snow and ice storm that never really developed.)

Mikaela Strauss, better known as King Princess, rocked the stage at a sold-out show at 9:30 Club recently. At only 20 years old, she knows what she wants and isn’t scared to say what’s on her mind. She knew that DC was ready for her that night.
