In recent months, Parklife DC has talked to the legendary Howard Jones and English Beat frontman Dave Wakeling, both of whom are excited about embarking on the summer Retro Futura Tour, now underway. (Read our interview with Howard here and our interview with Dave here.) The ’80s icons are heading to Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore, Maryland, on Sunday, July 30, along with Modern English, Men Without Hats, Katrina (formerly of The Waves), and Annabella Lwin (formerly of Bow Wow Wow.) The fourth annual River and Roots Festival, hosted by Shepherds Ford Productions, was held outside of Berryville, Virginia (not far from Winchester) on Friday, June 23, through Sunday, June 25 with a lineup of bluegrass, Americana, and roots musicians. Check out these pictures of the festival!

Red Wing Roots Festival, a family-friendly celebration of music, features kids events and activities and bike rides in the park. Red Wings V was held in Natural Chimneys Park on July 14-16.

Little Dragon released their latest album Season High on May 5 via Loma Vista Records. The band are touring this summer with two dates at 9:30 Club! The first date sold out, but you can win tickets to go to the second date on Wednesday, Aug. 9, with Parklife DC.

DC punk quartet Priests have hit the road through September with stops at Pitchfork Music Festival, Pickathon, Basilica Soundscape, and more! Tonight, the band are in Knoxville, Tennessee, as they make their way to Ottobar in Baltimore on Saturday, July 22.

From 2012-14, superhero comedy rock band The Aquabats were busy fighting evil on television with the Aquabats! Super Show! Once they wrapped the show, they took the time to enjoy a 20th anniversary tour in 2014. Now, MC Bat Commander and crew return with a new single “Dr. Space Mummy,” coming soon via Fearless Records, and a tour that lands at The Fillmore Silver Spring this Friday, July 21.
