Jesse Clasen and Jacob Michael formed Foreign Air in North Carolina, and the duo have found a home in DC. Foreign Air recently released “Lying,” a new single, and they are on a co-headlining tour with SHAED that visits Rock and Roll Hotel on Friday, Dec. 8.

Shamir published Revelations, his third studio album, on Nov. 3, 2017 via Father/Daughter Records. He’s touring in support of it, and he visits U Street Music Hall on Friday, Dec. 15.

Lil Pump (born Gazzy Garcia) may only be 17 years old, but he’s finding great chart success since he began uploading his music to Soundcloud in 2016. The Miami native released his self-titled debut mix tape on Oct. 6 via Tha Lights Global and Warner Bros. Records, and then launched a US tour that arrives at The Fillmore Silver Spring on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

DC post-punk rockers Dot Dash released their last album, Searchlights, in 2016, and they have been busy with a regular concert schedule in 2017. The band returns to the stage at Black Cat for a show on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

We usually give away tickets to see a show at 9:30 Club on Wednesday, but we have a special *Monday* ticket giveaway this week as well!

The Reverend Horton Heat release REV, the band’s most recent album, in 2014, but the trio are back in the studio working on a new record with a new drummer, Arjuna “RJ” Contreras. Meanwhile, Jim, Heath aka Reverend Horton, will bring the band to 9:30 Club for a show on Sunday, Dec. 3. You can win tickets to see The Reverend Horton Heat with Parklife DC!

School was in session, and Modern English arrived to show us how it’s done. The post-punk masters returned in very good form indeed with Take Me to the Trees, their self-released new album published in February, for an engrossing show at Rock and Roll Hotel on Tuesday.

Some may call it dad rock, others power pop or indie. But I call it damn fine rock ‘n roll. Eyelids recently popped up on my musical radar — and when I saw the Portland, Oregon quintet was making a DC stop on its short east coast tour, I made sure to be at the Black Cat on Sunday. Headlining a bill that included DC’s own Humble Fire and Jay Gonzalez (of Drive-by Truckers), Eyelids delivered a blistering 80-minute set of hook-heavy pop rock gems.

Victor Wooten released TRYPNOTYX, his 10th solo studio album, on Sept. 8, and he’s touring with Dennis Chambers and Bob Franceschini, who worked with him on that album, as the Victor Wooten Trio. The gents perform at 9:30 Club on Saturday, Dec. 16.
